Do you offer the Maryland Handgun Qualification class required by the State Police?
Yes. We do offer Maryland HQL classes as required by the Maryland Firearms Safety Act of 2013 that went into effect October 1st.
How often are Handgun Wear & Carry classes offered?
You can usually take Handgun Wear & Carry classes daily, depending on demand. Please check the schedule for current openings.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept credit cards.
Do I need to make a reservation or can I just show up for the class?
You must make a reservation to be in the class.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
If you cancel or do not attend, your payment may not be refunded. Payments for scheduled classes are due 7 calendar days before the class date, and no refunds are given less than 7 calendar days before the class.
Is there a shooting test in Maryland Handgun Wear & Carry class?
Yes. To receive a certified score sheet, which you will supply with your application, you must successfully pass a shooting test.
In accordance with the MSP requirements, the test you will take depends on whether you are a member of the security force or a civilian. The minimum score required to pass is 70% or better.
What do you need to buy a handgun in Maryland?
For a handgun purchase in Maryland, you must be 21 or older and have your Handgun Qualification License (HQL).
What should I bring to class?
Please bring a valid photo ID, any required registration materials, and payment if it has not already been completed. For some courses, additional items may be needed. We recommend confirming your class requirements before attending so you arrive prepared.
Where are your classes held?
We serve students in Columbia, Maryland, and the surrounding DMV area. Class locations can vary by course, so please check your registration details or contact us for the current training location.
Do you offer concealed carry training for states other than Maryland?
Yes. In addition to Maryland training, we offer classes for DC, Virginia, Utah, and Arizona, as well as multi-jurisdiction concealed carry training. This gives students options for broader permit coverage.
How long does a class usually take?
Class length depends on the course you choose. Some classes are completed in one day, while others may take longer. We recommend reviewing the course details before you register so you know what to expect.
Do you offer onsite fingerprinting?
Yes. We offer onsite fingerprinting for students when it is needed for a course or permit application. This helps make the process simpler and keeps everything in one place.
