About
This Washington, DC Concealed Carry License Renewal Course is designed to help current permit holders refresh their understanding of District firearms laws, safe handling practices, and the responsibilities associated with carrying a concealed firearm. Participants will review DC-specific requirements related to renewal, eligibility, registration, transportation, storage, prohibited locations, ammunition, interactions with law enforcement, and responsible use-of-force decision-making. The course also addresses age requirements and eligibility considerations. Applicants and permit holders should generally be at least 21 years old, subject to current District law and any applicable exceptions or restrictions. Participants should verify their individual eligibility and renewal requirements with the DC Metropolitan Police Department before applying or renewing. Additional topics include situational awareness, conflict avoidance, secure firearm storage, concealed-carry best practices, lawful transportation, and continuing compliance with District and federal requirements. Instruction emphasizes safety, accountability, responsible decision-making, and the importance of staying informed about changes to DC law. This course is educational in nature and does not constitute legal advice or guarantee renewal approval. DC firearms laws, regulations, fees, deadlines, training requirements, and eligibility standards may change. Participants must verify current requirements with the DC Metropolitan Police Department and other appropriate authorities. Any required in-person instruction, qualification, documentation, or live-fire training must be completed through properly authorized providers.
